Parenting is not a piece of cake.

You can’t display it on a beautiful platter.

You can’t add your favorite jam to it.

You can’t ice it with vibrant colors.

You can’t measure its sugar or salt.

You can’t form it into the shape you want.

Parenting is a bunch of ingredients.

A cup full of sugar.

Cinnamon to taste.

Nine cups of flour.

A pinch or two of yeast.

And a large cake pan well greased.
